Applicants are assessed as to urgency, personal motivation and sincerity.
Upon acceptance, applicants are required to sign a contract stating they will abide by the house rules and follow a program of personal recovery based on A.A., N.A. or C.A.
With the assistance of a fulltime counsellor, new residents then work out a plan to address problem areas in their life – financial, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, familial and occupational.
Length of Stay
Normally, a minimum of three months is required before appreciable progress becomes evident, and in most cases, a maximum period of nine to twelve months is sufficient. However, because each case is considered on its own merit, if at the end of a year, the House Manager / Counsellor and the Board of Directors feel a longer stay will benefit the resident, this can be arranged.
